A Voice in the Wilderness is a nonprofit ministry that exists to spread. The Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. Since 1994 we have been involved in a number of missionary and evangelistic efforts in the United States and in Haiti. Beginning in 1995, this ministry has been instrumental in expanding and maintaining a children's feeding program and primary school for disadvantaged students in Carre four Feuilles, Haiti.
It is our deepest conviction that the most effective means of bringing lasting change to the people of Haiti is to educate, evangelize and equip the Haitian people themselves. This philosophy has proven to be sound over the years!
The untiring efforts to be the light of Christ in his community have produced amazing results for the Kingdom of God. Hundreds of children are fed each day, and hundreds more have received a basic education free of charge. Thousands of Gospel tracts and Bibles have been distributed, and a multitude of lives have been touched and changed by the power of God.
It has certainly been by the power of God alone that A Voice in the Wilderness was blessed to become an instrument of the Gospel in Haiti. We are a small, grassroots ministry that was started as an umbrella for outreach and evangelism in Atlanta, Georgia, and has blossomed over the years into a network of concerned individuals who have a heart for the children and thus the future of Haiti.
As we have been faithful in the small things the Lord has continued to increase our responsibility and the focus of our efforts. Because we have striven to be faithful to take advantage of the opportunities the Lord has given us; we have seen the feeding program expand from reaching a few children a few days a week to reaching many hundreds of children every day.
We have been used by the Lord to supply Christian literature and to provide salaries for the teaching staff of the our school. We have been used by the Lord to provide medical attention for the desperately needy community of Carre four Feuilles.
Most importantly, we have been used by the Lord to help our Haitian brothers and sisters help themselves…and in the process they have become great ambassadors for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We are not a humanitarian group. We are not a financial provider. We are evangelist who have discovered the joy of equipping our Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ with the tools and resources they need to reach their neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ. That is our primary goal and function.
But for every need we meet there are hundreds more that remain untouched, our work in Haiti is far from over. We continue to seek help with the needs of the school as the salary needs for the teachers and staff continues. The need for school and medical supplies is never ending. And the need for assistance with tuition, so more children can attend the school their parents can not afford, is very real. The Lord has told us that when we meet the needs of the least of His children we have touched Him as well. This is our motivation to continue with the ministry that the Lord has placed before us.
He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. We are but A Voice in the Wilderness…
Thank you for your interest in our ministry!
